A VISION OF THE FUTURE Shooting Star, the new AeroCruiser 38 II from the drawing board of Espen Øino and built by Danish Yachts is presented today at her exclusive World Premiere to the world’s media and guests.
Following sea trials and naming recently in the shipyard in Skagen, Denmark, Shooting Star has been brought to Monaco at the start of the season to present the best of Danish superyacht build. This powerful 38 metre superyacht is already renowned for her speeds in excess of 45 knots and manoeuvrability throughout the speed range, due in part to two powerful MTU engines and MJP jet drives. Tank testing at design stage confirmed that Shooting Star’s predicted speeds could be achieved and the end result has exceeded expectations from the technical and build teams.
No compromise in terms of luxury provides for an exquisitely finished interior which showcases a distinctive Scandinavian style throughout, reflecting the inspirational and striking light which draws artists into the small fishing village of Skagen, where Shooting Star was built. Textures, fabrics and colours have been delicately combined to provide a modern feel with a classic elegance not seen in any superyacht before and Shooting Star is now setting new standards within the industry. Attention to detail is key and the beautifully appointed guest and owner’s cabins, with individual en suite bathrooms, ensure that a stay on Shooting Star will provide the highest level of comfort and luxury, whether in the galley or relaxing in the unique main saloon under the open sunroof.
The crew mess gives a new feel to interior design, with a central galley and large seating area which is surrounded by crew cabins. Espen Øino, the Norwegian designer of Shooting Star and the Danish Yachts range of AeroCruisers is extremely proud of his latest superyacht, “It is always a good feeling when one of your designs is launched for the first time, yet there is something very special about Shooting Star with her Scandinavian origins. She represents the best in terms of Scandinavian design and build above and below decks and with firsts in so many areas ¬speed and manoeuvrability, the unique pioneering construction system, attention to sustainability and superb interior – she is a world first! I have enjoyed working alongside the friendly and approachable team at the shipyard in Skagen with their “can¬do” attitude and am looking forward to the next AeroCruiser new build very much.”
Danish Yachts is privately managed and financed and is committed to building modern vessels and superyachts to the highest standards, combining the traditional skills of craftsmanship with modern technology, at the same time respecting nature and the environment throughout the build and life of each vessel.
