Unveiled for the first time - Shooting Star

Project 116, the Espen Øino designed AeroCruiser 38 II, was unveiled for the first time at the Danish Yachts' shipyard in Skagen, Denmark over the weekend.
Now christened, 'Shooting star', she was launched with Directors, staff members, suppliers and press here to celebrate her naming on the dockside. She became the star on the day not just in name, having been featured on the day on national Danish television, as well as in the local papers.
'Shooting Star' will now leave for the Mediterranean, for her presentation to the world's media at her World Premiere on 12th May 2011 in Monaco.

Fresh from initial sea trials, Project 116, the first AeroCruiser 38 II, is to be christened and named at Danish Yachts’ superyacht shipyard in Skagen today, Saturday 26th March.
Having very recently emerged from one of the shipyard’s three large build hangars, this brand new carbon-fibre superyacht is an exquisite example of the standard of finish. She is the fastest in her class and is designed to achieve speeds in excess of 45 knots. Espen Øino, her Norwegian designer is justifiably proud of this huge achievement bringing together the Danish craftsmanship and in-house technical skills in this custom showcase 38 metre superyacht. She has already achieved firsts in many areas – design speed, pioneering construction, distinctive interior and attention to sustainability both during build and throughout her future life.
This beautifully finished superyacht, is the culmination of many Danish suppliers working closely with the specifiers and technicians at the shipyard, to ensure that the systems work seamlessly and that the quality of finish reflects the highest possible standards for which Danish Yachts is renowned worldwide.
Unveiled for the first time is her luxurious and typically Scandinavian influenced interior. Designed to reflect the striking and inspirational light in Skagen, the textures, fabrics and colours have brought together a truly remarkable and unique feel providing a timeless elegance using the very best classic and contemporary Danish design throughout the vessel. Her sumptuous cabins below decks reveal an attention to detail rarely seen, even in the most exclusive levels of the international superyacht industry.
The owner’s and guest cabins are beautifully appointed, with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms and individual ipod music stations using the very latest technology from Bang & Olufsen. The systems throughout the interior of the vessel are integrated to work with each other. The cinema room provides a high degree of comfort, as well as an additional berth if needed. The crew quarters replicate an equal level of luxury, with a superbly appointed galley and crew mess area, surrounded by individual crew cabins.
Project 116 is now due to leave Skagen for her next performance at her World Premiere in Monaco on 12th May 2011, where she will be presented to the international media and put up for sale.
Following the departure of 116, the build halls are to be prepared for production of the latest vessel into the Danish Yachts’ range – the AeroSpeed 18, “SuperCar of the Seas”. The AeroSpeed 18 is designed by Rainsford Mann Design to provide high performance and manoeuvrability at speeds in excess of 55 knots, at the same time giving the luxurious feel and quality only found in superyachts. This superboat received her Middle Eastern launch at the Dubai International Boat Show earlier this month.
