Ecover Zero of Skagen’, the Challenge 67 which Mike Golding took around the world in the British Steel Challenge, completed an extensive refit at Danish Yachts. The brief was to turn her into a luxurious, fast cruising yacht with an efficient deck layout for shorthanded sailing. The work was completed to MCA Codes for full ocean charter work, necessitating additional watertight bulkheads. Further modifications included a new carbon rig carrying a full suit of North sails, a complete new hydraulic system and new main engine and associated systems, with A/C and main generator. She was also fitted with a bow thruster. The deck layout was designed to be lighter weight, yet more efficient and safe and easy to operate for charter guests.
